Jesus is condemned to death

|
Officiant: We adore thee, O Christ and we praise thee. (genuflect) All: Because by Thy holy cross Thou hast redeemed the world. Officiant: Again the high priest asked Him, and said unto Him, "Art Thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed," and Jesus said, "I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." Then the high priest rent his clothes and saith, "What need we any further witnesses? Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye?" And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. (Mark 14: 61-64) All: The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together the rulers against the Lord, and against His Anointed: I will rehearse the decree; the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. Desire of me, and I shall give thee the nations for thine inheritance, And the utmost parts of the earth for thy possession. (Psalm 2:2 & 7-8) Let us pray. ALMIGHTY, everlasting God, Who in Thy beloved Son, King of the whole world, hast willed to restore all things anew, grant in Thy mercy that all families of nations, rent asunder by the wound of sin, may be subjected to His most gentle rule, Who with Thee liveth and reigneth in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen. Sing: Is there one who would not weep, Whelmed in miseries so deep Christ's dear Mother to behold? | |
